Lemon Baby Shower

Thursday, June 27, 2019

Our parents hosted a lovely breakfast baby shower for us in my hometown of Nogales, Sonora. It was held at one of my favorite restaurants, El Marcos. This place opened when I was in junior high so I grew up going there on special occasions {the food is amazing!}. It was extra sentimental for me to have my shower there. The restaurant itself is kind of dark and has spot lighting so photography is veeeeeeeeeery difficult. We tried many angles but this was the best we could come up with.

Guests were treated to fresh fruit, chilaquiles, burritos, tamales, vegetables, beans and over fifteen {!!!} different desserts from the bar crated by Edelmira Jimenez. We were all on a sugar high by the end of the event! It was so amazing being surrounded by friends and family that we grew up with.

Back in the day when my mom was twenty five years old, she took a cake decorating class and they taught her how to make different figurines with sugar. Thirty five years later she remembered the recipe and made us a sugar crib! It is so beautiful and delicate, she had it displayed at the shower and now we have it at home. Not sure what I’ll do with it but I wanted it as a keepsake.

We have one more baby shower event being hosted by the kind people at my office. It will be the last event before out little peanut makes its grand entrance into this world. We feel so grateful to be surrounded by so much love and support.

Until next time!
