Ibiza Travel Diary + Guide

Thursday, July 20, 2017

Ibiza was by far my favorite city we visited during this trip. I must confess I was a bit nervous about how we would spend our days there since we are not really into clubs, DJ's or large parties. Boy! Was I wrong! It reminded me a bit of Capri, Italy. With the beautiful vegetation, people dressed in white linen for dinner and some of the most creative and beautiful restaurants I have ever seen.

STAY

Bar area at our hotel.
Comfy chairs greet you as you walk into the property.
We stayed at Sol Beach House, a hotel by Melia. My husband picked this hotel because is located in Santa Eulalia, the less crowded and touristy part of town {I call him my grumpy old man, this is what he usually goes for haha}. The best part of this hotel is that is adults only. It's all decorated in white. Very light and airy. They offer workout classes, a juice bar, breakfast bar and it's within walking distance to the marina.

And free bikes to ride around town!

Patio Coffee Station
The main lobby.
Tile love at the pool bar.
The view from the pool was unreal. We rented daybeds for 80 euros a day. They included a bottle of champagne, hummus/veggie appetizer and 50 euro bar credit. Such a great deal!

The Santa Eulalia Marina is within walked distance and lined with restaurants, bars and shops.

Marina views while grabbing lunch at Cafe Sidney.
EAT

Favorite part of traveling! First things first, dessert. There are gelato shops all over the island, I recommend you try Vivi's Creamery in Old Ibiza. The best Straciatella I've ever had in my life. My husband had the pistachio one and he said it was amazing.

We had dinner at Sabrisa Gastro Bar located on the  famous Passeig de Vara in Old Ibiza -this is their downtown area-. We dined al fresco overlooking the plaza on a Saturday afternoon. Every single plate we ordered was delicious. They also offer a tasting menu starting at 47 euros.

There are plenty of coffee shops and restaurants sprinkled all over the island. If you have the time, relax a bit an enjoy a cup on one of the pretty little streets hidden behind the buildings facing the main streets.

DO

Most of our days were spent by the beach and pool laying out and drinking mimosas. Having Ibiza be the last stop on out trip was a great decision as we were able to relax and unwind right before hopping on the plane to get back to Austin. With views like these right at our hotel is was impossible not to relax:

But then of course there's shopping, and such GOOD shopping. So many cute boutiques, stores and stands all over Old Ibiza. I purchased my new favorite shoes, two straw bags, and some home items to decorate our living room. Had the best time!

Exploring downtown Ibiza is a must, they have an amazing church on top of a hill with great views of the island. You can see hundreds of yachts position themselves all around the coast to enjoy the beautiful sunset.

Each and every single one of the little streets you walk has so much charm. Go ahead and get lost!

On our very last day we walked over to the beach by the marina before lunch and found this amazing hotel right around the corner from us. The rooms downstairs have their own swim-up pool! This is definitely going to be on our must-stay list next time we are in Ibiza.

Hope you enjoyed my little diary + guide. Shoot me an email if you have any questions, I would be happy to help!

    1. Hi Annie! I had the same idea as your husband. I thought it would be a party island and it is totally not. Of course there are certain sections, and clubs and party hotels but overall is a very relaxing place with old charm. You need to visit!

  11. Nice Blog for re finishing of furniture. If you favor to have both functional and pretty Teak outdoor furniture, then go for wrought iron furniture. Teak furniture can make your patio area look fashionable and lively. my home page
