A Dress So Good I Bought It Twice

Friday, February 21, 2020

Dress // Shoes // Bag

You know that feeling when you finally find the wardrobe piece you’ve been looking for? That’s how I felt when I spotted this dress on Tuckernuck last summer; I had been looking for the perfect white cotton button-up dress. This piece is such a flattering and classic cut the company releases the style every season in different colors and fabrics. I had waited to order because I needed to justify the nearly $150 price tag in my head. I initially had a hard time rationalizing it because there are so many similar dresses our there for way less money, but I ordered and tried on many and nothing fit me quite like this one. Then the holidays rolled around and they released it in red and that was it! I needed a Christmas Eve dress, the length was appropriate for work and the button-up style is perfect for breastfeeding. Runs a tad big {perfect for the baby weight I’m still carrying} and is machine washable! I love it so much I just ordered it in navy. The white one will have to wait, I think owning the same dress in three different colors is a bit much.

I am also loving this dress, this blouse, these shoes and earrings from Tuckernuck. Nobody does Spring and Summer quite like them!

Until next time,

Back To Work in Polka Dots

Wednesday, December 4, 2019

It is hard to believe I am officially back at the office and Eloise is now four months. I didn't think it would happen but I actually missed wearing office appropriate clothing during my maternity leave. As a matter of fact most of my purchases this past two months have been for work outfits. I spotted this dress while shopping for holiday sweaters and loved the navy/polka dot combo. Fits true to size, it is machine washable and does not cling to the body. Paired it with my Natalie Flint Emma pump, most comfortable heel EVER. I also gifted myself this Clare V bag I had been eyeing since forever; it was my back to work gift...love love LOVE IT! Throw on some classic Bobbi Brown lipstick and boom! Ready for work {after grabbing my venti Starbucks of course because baby}.

Happy first week of December!

PS
Dress sold out in a week but I linked something similar. Most importantly, get $50 dollars off a pair of Sarah Flint shoes with code BANICOLE50.

Madewell Summer Sale

Wednesday, July 17, 2019

Mid-Summer {or in retail world End-of-Summer} sales are my absolute favorite. I know everyone is going crazy about the Nordstrom sale but I'm over here geeking out at the prices from Madewell and JCrew because a lot of their pretty summer pieces are deeply discounted and with an extra 30% off on top of that, so rare for Madewell! I am a bit embarrassed to admit I have placed 3 orders in the past two days, can't blame me! I'm so excited to wear non-maternity clothes soon. Some of my favorite include the pink t-shirt dress with puffy sleeves, the tote bag that fits my entire world in it and that silk wrap dress which would be perfect for newborn pictures. Can't believe I'm already planning on that!

Hope you're enjoying your week as much as I am. I am working from home my last few days in the office and it feels so good to prop my swollen feet up. Happy Wednesday!

Why This Is My Favorite Closet Staple

Thursday, February 8, 2018

Trench // Top // Pants // Bag // Heels // Sunglasses

Trench coats have come and gone in my closet in every size, color and fabric imaginable,  at one point I even purchased a hot pink one {what was I thinking?!} from GAP. Needless to say,  bright colored or printed pieces rarely get utilized as much as simple classics. I had been on the waiting list for Everlane's classic khaki trench for about five months and it finally shipped last month. It is SO CUTE! I have been wearing it non-stop since I took it out of that box. It quickly turned into my favorite layer to throw over my office outfits {such as the one above} or over my leggings on my way to yoga. It has a slightly oversized look. I'm a size 2 and purchased the extra-small; I have worn large thick sweaters under it and they fit quite comfortably. I have also worn it over thin dresses and a tight simple bow on the belt will make it look. The black pants I'm wearing on this outfit are my weekday office go-to's. They are very comfortable and look great with just about any blouse tucked in.

As as side note, sorry I have been a little MIA on my blog. I'm trying to get more educated on running a website and that has taken up most of my time as of late. But I'm very excited to tell you that I am learning a lot and can't wait to put everything I have discovered into practice.

Hope you're having a wonderful week!
